By Other Means (Copenhagen, Denmark)

The galaxy has been at war for fourteen years. It began when the Emperor banned cybernetics – the fusion of human and machine – and dismissed the Senate when it tried to block him. Many of the Empire’s vassals rose in revolt, and the Machine War broke out.

Now the war is deadlocked. Planets lie devastated, the fleets are exhausted, the treasuries are empty and the debts keep growing. No one can win, and no one can afford to lose. So the powers of the galaxy are meeting on two neutral worlds to negotiate an end to the war.

And you must try to end this war.

Be the diplomat who secures peace… or destruction.

You control – together with a team – one of the game’s twelve factions. At the negotiating table, you’re a diplomat, bargaining world by world over who gets control – and everyone involved has to sign. In the Senate, you vote on taxes, the Empire’s territory and cybernetics.

You also lead your exhausted fleets, which can still attack, invade and loot. But orders are carried out while you negotiate, so a fleet in the wrong place can void a treaty before the ink is even dry.

This is all about how good your negotiating and strategic skills are. Can you win allies? Can you find a compromise with your enemies? Or will you try to push a deal through by force? There are many options, and it’s up to you and your team to find the best path to peace for your faction.
